A highly successful entrepreneur and investor who has developed and sold companies to publicly traded entities, Mr. King has held numerous executive positions including President and CEO of 900 Solutions Inc, President and CEO of Voice Tel of Austin, and Business Manager of Capital Ford. In addition to his hands-on approach at Akea, he is President of Blue Water Integrators, S.A., a real estate development and marketing firm in Nosara, Costa Rica, one of nine Longevity Hot Spots globally and where inspiration for Akea was born. William is also a private investor in many other ventures, including 3CInteractive LLC, and Xhale Inc, the latter of which is the manufacturer of a non-invasive diagnostic device. A former professional musician, William enjoys boating and snowboarding with his wife and son, and holds a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Mr. Qubain was involved in the modem industry from its very early days, developing one of the first modem designs to incorporate error correction. After management positions in modem and semiconductor companies, he joined RSA Communications in Raleigh where he became President and major shareholder. During his RSA tenure, he successfully piloted the company through significant transitions and acquisition most notably, by Cirrus Logic. After leading the spin-off from Cirrus Logic, and RSA merger with Virata, Mr. Qubain lead the company to a highly successful IPO. Munther is a board member, advisor and private investor for various start ups and business ventures. He is an educational philanthropist, avid skier, enjoys boating and piloting his own plane. He also holds an Airline Transport Pilot rating and several jet type ratings.

Bill is a veteran executive with vast experience in business operations, strategic consulting, business and market development, and new ventures for a wide range of established and emergent companies and technologies, with considerable experience leading business growth and driving market share gains. He has held numerous senior management positions including Vice President and General Manager, Vice President of North American Sales (ARC International), Vice President of Business Development (GlobespanVirata), Vice President of Customer Solutions and Services (Virata) and Vice President Sales and Marketing (RSA Communications). Mr. Bernecki was instrumental in the growth of RSA Communications from a small, private company, via a merger with Virata and an IPO on NASDAQ; company shares increased 90% in the first day of trading and subsequently achieved a $5B+ valuation. He was extensively involved in planning and executing the integration of Virata and RSA Communications after acquisition of RSA. Bill is an experimentalist and adventurer, a bowling enthusiast, and enjoys traveling.

He began his corporate career in sales & marketing with RJ Reynolds and later with the Wella AG as US Regional Sales Manager where he was responsible for the sales, distribution, training and education of professional beauty products throughout the salon and spa industry. After leaving the professional beauty industry Terry joined the upstart advertising and marketing firm Cutting Edge Media, as Director of Business Development where he worked hand in hand with the MLM industry’s top income earners and corporate leaders creating advertising, lead generation programs and training systems for thousands of Network Marketing professionals. Terry then joined GNLD International as Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the US, Canada & Caribbean. After traveling the globe delivering his unique mentoring, motivating and training skills in 2009 Terry stepped down as Vice President where he and his wife Carole built one of the fastest growing GNLD organizations in the United States. She is the founding partner of Going Greene Events, a sustainable event planning company with an eco-chic approach. Amy serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Catering Executives and the Me Fine Foundation, the latter of which provides financial assistance to families with children in Duke and UNC hospitals. She also serves on several planning committees for local NC fundraisers and as Charity Coordination Chair for Models for Charity, an organization of professionals who raise funds for Triangle-based charities through runway and print modeling and fashion-oriented events. Mrs. Scott has worked in technology, life science, and manufacturing industries for companies that are primarily privately-held or venture backed businesses.
